These stunning green serving plates are made in Tamegroute, a small village in the Draa Valley of Southern Morocco. It is a family affair handed down the generations. The characteristic green colour comes from the particular combination of the clay from the Draa River bed and the ancient glaze technique which comprises silicon, manganese and copper, which once baked in earth kilns, results in the striking green hue.
All of the pieces are unique and handmade. Small irregularities and shape unevenness add to the charm and demonstrate the traditional craftsman’s work.
